Welcome to Shanna’s attempt at a Build A City Challenge! 
There are several variations but I’ll be using this one by SimsDivaD.

I’ve chosen the small town of Cardean because the world itself is blank and the lots it came with are in a save game. The rules require one community lot with no buildings on it (like a park) to remain from the original world. The lake was a fishing spot so I kept it. 

Nearby is my “place holder” lot for 8 townies. My plan is to import some of the lots from the save game and just demolish the buildings so I can keep the plants and trees as they were intended. Just to make a more cohesive look in the end. The townie lot, at the moment, is still the original, I haven’t built it up yet. The next lot over will be for my first sim and the house has already been torn down.

Cardean Build A City Challenge - Townies

You start the challenge with 8 townies and only 1 family relationship allowed. Maria Ortiz and her son have moved in with these 6 random people. Some of them I made previously (and maybe have been seen before), others were recent creations. I’m not a sim-making master so they may not look super interesting. Mainly I just like my sims to be diverse since I grew up in a place overflowing with different cultures.

Of course after I made everyone I realized you were supposed to roll random traits for each townie. Some of them are random, others are older so they have whatever I gave them at the time, but I don’t remember now so it’ll still be a surprise!

(Can’t forget Toby! I’m not sure who’s dog he is but I figured I’d throw him in for good measure. He’s already looking to dig up the place!)

Cardean Build A City Challenge

The small coastal area known as Cardean is now under development! A once empty valley filled with lush foliage, Cardean is on it’s way to becoming the latest sea side destination! City planners have mapped out the roads and are in the process of zoning commercial and residential areas for this town. What they need now are some savvy building designers. Local gossip suggests Dana Carter, aspiring home design hotshot, has been asked to take the job.

Cardean Build A City Challenge - Our Sim!

Dana has accepted the job as Head Building Designer and will be working with Cardean city planners to help shape this new town!

You may recognize Dana Clark, she was a random sim I made a while back. Well now she’s broken out of the bin and into my heart! Kind of… I actually did not remember any of her traits until after I placed her, so that makes it interesting! Her LTW kind of worked out for designing a town =)

Cardean Build A City Challenge - First Residential Lot

Here’s Dana at her new home. The city planners cobbled together a small place for Dana to stay while she works on her design plans. It’s kind of small (and crappy), but once Dana gets her hands on it, it’ll look a lot better. Until then, she’ll probably be using that bench as a dinning table and a bed. At least there’s an easel outside.
